NWEA wishes to serve districts and schools by providing information learned from recent research into the impact of COVID-19 closures on learning loss going into the new school year. NWEA hosted a webinar, “COVID-19 Closures & Learning Loss,” on Wednesday, April 22, at 12 p.m. Central. It included a conversation with Dr. Beth Tarasawa, Sal Khan, Dr. Jesus Jara, and Kimberly Cockrell about the implications of the research as well as insights for action to help educators, policymakers, and families address and plan for the impacts of this extended pause in classroom instruction.
